”"We see that available 7B and V2500 engines are being leased within a matter of days of becoming available."
Bruce Ansell
In the December issue of Freighter Trends, Bruce Ansell, Technical Manager Engine Division at APOC Aviation, shares his insights on the CFM56 and V2500 market.
He shares: “Operators are placing orders for new aircraft, but at the same time they are having to refresh their existing fleets. 5B/7B/V2500 powered aircraft are still in high demand. We see that available 7B and V2500 engines are being leased within a matter of days of becoming available.
“Airlines and aircraft lessors are now putting more resources into engines to ensure that they have sufficient support for their operations until the LEAP and GTF reach a level of maturity where their price and availability are viable. Unfortunately, support for legacy engines is reducing, making it imperative that operators partner with experienced specialists whose focus is to keep aircraft operational throughout their lifecycle.”
