In the June/July issue of Inside MRO, Ian Foster, VP MRO & Technical at APOC Aviation, spoke to Keith Mwanalushi about sustainability pressures reshaping the aviation aftermarket.

“Sustainability through supply of repaired and recertified components makes them more attractive to some customers. However, while recent OEM designs do not directly limit parts supply, manufacturer restrictions on maintenance manuals are increasingly rendering older equipment uneconomical to repair.”

Despite increasing pressures, Foster observes, “sustainability is still not visible as a primary customer priority – pricing and quality remain the main factors guiding repair decisions.”
